No greed led, no reaction on the computer

Post by gestevez »

Hi, I've just finished building my USBtinyISP kit (order #: 9021096).

I plug the usb cable but the green LED does not lit up. There is no reaction from the computer at all.

I have verified that the LEDs, zener diodes, ICs and the electrolytic capacitor are oriented correctly, verified that the correct resistors are in place, tried different USB cables and tried all available USB ports on my computer.

I measured 5 volts from the USB port on the power pins of the ICs and headers.

My computer is a AMD Phenom X4 running Windows XP 32 bits with 2 GB of RAM.

Since there is no reaction from the computer, no new device found, no drivers installation message, (no green LED lit on the programmer) I don't think the avrdude screenshots will be relevant at this time.

I would appreciate your inputs.

I'm attaching the pictures of my USBtinyISP below:
