> FIRST: Are you using a USBtiny from a kit or from DIY? Make sure you mention that in your post
I purchased this as a Kit and soldered it together myself.
> SECOND: What OS and computer are you using?
Windows 7 64 bit
> THIRD: Which programming software are you using, and what chip?
Atmel studio 6.1, ATmega328P
> FOURTH: Did the USBtinyISP ever work (even once) or is it your first time trying to talk to a chip
First time trying to use it
> FIFTH: Post screenshots (NOT copy&paste) of what is happening
Nothing happens at all. No lights, no windows USB plugged in response, no smoke, nothing.
> SIXTH: Post clear, in-focus, not-blurry, easy to see photos of the top and bottom of the kit. If the photos are blurry, unfocused, and difficult to see they will only make it harder to debug what is going on

You have the Atmel chip installed backwards. The semicircular indent on the end of the chip should match up with the semicircular indication on the silkscreen

Wow, that's embarassing....
Thanks rick, and that was the only problem, it's working now.

Could have been worse - could have been the 74HC125.Atticus wrote:Wow, that's embarassing....
Glad that was the only problem!
