Unable to load UNO R3 drivers in Windows 7

Post by PBrown »

I am unable to install the driver for the UNO R3 that arrived in the starter kit. It shows up in Device Manager as ATMega 16u2 DFU, when trying to use the R3 driver it finishes with an error and says cannot start device. The IDE will not recognize it.

Does it let you install the UNO R3 driver? Sometimes it helps to explicitly uninstall the Device Manager selected driver and then re-install the UNO driver.

The Device Manager did not load the driver, I had to explicitly install it from the start. I have even tried all of the other drivers in the folder some will not install at all. The R3 driver loads and it shows up under Ports but will not start.

Sounds like the 16u2 was not properly flashed. Contact [email protected] with a link to this thread for a replacement UNO.
