Adafruit ARDX - v1.3 Experimentation Kit for Arduino

Post by ahochman »

I purchased the Adafruit ARDX - v1.3 Experimentation Kit for Arduino (Uno R3)
http://www.adafruit.com/products/170

On the "putting it together page" Page 2, it shows on the diagram:
- a green plate w/ 2 holes cut out (which did not come in the kit and not listed as a part)
Is that required?

Also am i supposed to remove the yellow covering on back of the breadboard, does it glue down?

Thanks

I believe what you are referring to is the oomlout logo. Oomlout is the manufacturer of the ARDX kits: http://oomlout.co.uk/

The back of the breadboard is covered with adhesive foam. If you remove the release paper you can stick it down.

I understand thats the oomlout which has been replaced by the Adafruit logo, thought it was a part.
Also does it matter which direction breadboard is mounted?

The breadboard can go either way. I like to mount them with the row/column labels right-side up.

Trying to do Blinking LED refers to a (4) 2 Pin Headers, are that in the kit?

Do I break apart that long pin board of 18 pin into 2 pin sections?

Yes. You can break them by hand or snip them with wire cutters.

This kit sounds like fun; Looking forward to buying this kit when it comes back in stock.

Adafruit can add a power supply and a 9V battery pack to this Kit and we'd be all set.
