Arduino Uno Won't Connect
I just recently bought the arduino uno starter kit. I downloaded the arduino program, and then tried to connect the board to my Mac via the usb cable. Unfortunately I did not get a pop up at all showing that the Arduino Uno has been connected (but the green light is lit up and the orange light is flashing). I read a few of these forums and I checked a few things. Under USB connections it shows communication device (as shown below) and that the arduino has ver. is 0.01. I have no idea why it is not working. I can't start up the program and I can't get the Mac to recognize the device via a pop up of any sort. What should I do?

What are you expecting it to do?
Nothing "pops up".
Have you tried loading a sketch to it?

Re: Arduino Uno Won't Connect
You should see the board show up in the Arduino Tools:Port menu as "/dev/tty.usbmodemNNNN", where "NNNN" is some sequence of digits and letters.

Re: Arduino Uno Won't Connect
Figured it out. Looks like the new IDE 1.0.5 was not working properly. I downloaded 1.0.4 and I could open the Arduino program and start downloading sketches. Thanks guys.
