FRIED THE CHIP?

Post by ATECDOC »

Any chance that by crossing the 5V and ground from my UNO to the TCS 34725 Color Light Sensor I could have fried the TCS chip? It worked out of the box, but was trying to low out the LED and think I bonked the chip. Won't respond to the Arduino sketch now, though the LED still lights up .....

Clumsy beginner.

LEDs being diodes can tolerate reverse voltage to a fair degree. However, most chips don't handle it well at all. I would not be surprised if it was fried.
