Different wav files under program control

I am the most beginning of beginners with Arduino. I would like to be able to play one of eight wave files from a SD or microSD under program control. Can I do this using the WAV Shield?

Yes, that is possible. There are several examples of similar programs here- depending on how you want to select the file to play.
