USB to TTL Serial Cable

Hey! I was wondering if this product: http://www.adafruit.com/products/954 could be used to create a soft serial connection from my Arduino UNO to my PC. I need to use the Tx and Rx port in the Arduino to communicate with some servos and I wish to create a soft serial connection to receive instructions from the computer. I just want to know if I can use that cable or if I would need to use something like this other product: https://www.adafruit.com/products/70. Thank you very much for your help!

Either one could be used for that purpose. The #954 cable is slightly easier to hook up because the wires are all separate.
