So the Simple RF M4 Receiver - 315MHz Momentary Type on Adafruit is very interesting to me. It has a high quality IR sensor to detect signals from the Keyfob RF Remote Control - 315MHz. There is no microcontroller required to use it too! The remote turns the corresponding pin on the receiver HIGH, so you know, a LED or something goes on. My question is how to implement this into the Arduino. Is it possible to just plug in the pins to the Arduino and then perform digitalRead()? A use case scenario I had in mind was to have my Arduino-robot perform if-statements on the state of these pins, using the remote control as a controller for the robot.
Long story short, I need to plug in the M4's pins to the Arduino (using 4 pins as readers, powering with 5V and GND), and use a sketch to act upon the command sent from the remote (with if-statements and digitalRead(pinOne) == HIGH).

That should work. Put your if() statements inside the loop() routine and act on them as they occur.
Do not use pins D0 or D1 as these are tied to the USB programming port.

Thanks! Just had a crazy thought if I could blow a pin by sending an involuntary HIGH or LOW to it.

As long as the pin is set as an input in setup() and the signal voltage does not exceed 5V, you should be OK. Do not try this with a Due board as the input cannot exceed 3.3V. For the Uno, Mega, and some others it will work.

I have some quick questions about the Keyfob RF Remote Control - 315MHz (cold not find the answers on the product pages).
If using a TX and RX to trigger a relay board (no controller and the non-addressing/non-bidirectional would be fine):
1) Does this item comes with a security measure to prevent cloning and other issues?
2) Is there a limit on how many TX can control one RX?
We would need some security covered as the use would be to control an industrial rolling-up metal gate.

@tfbkny - The chips themselves support addressing, but the modules we have are all addressed the same, so all fobs will control all receivers within range.
