Random 0x66 error writing to USB Boarduino

My USB Boarduino started giving me an error while writing to it. Everything was working fine the first dozen or so times I uploaded my sketch, the next minute the Arduino IDE (1.0.1 and 0023) is reporting "avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x66". The IDE says "done uploading" but the new code hasn't been uploaded. Any idea what is going on or what else I could try?

I have the same problem - one minute it works, then it doesn't want to upload.
Then I look at the jumper by the reset switch - oops i have it set for external power not usb....
And you would not believe how many times I keep doing that......

That little black caterpillar you just stepped on will set you back a few bucks....

Check the jumper as JD3 suggests. Also double check the COM port. They do get re-assigned sometimes - especially if you plug the cable into a different USB port.
