RGB backlight negative LCD 16x2

Postby colpinheiro » Tue Jan 08, 2013 9:18 pm

I bought the product - RGB backlight negative LCD 16x2 (http://www.adafruit.com/products/399). I'll use it with the Arduino UNO and Mega. I'm having trouble finding the manual configuration of this LCD to work with the Arduino. In the tutorial (http://learn.adafruit.com/character-lcds) that comes with the LCD does not explain how to connect this LCD (which has 18 pins) with the arduino. Another question would also be what the library can I use to run this LCD - RBG backligth.

It hooks up just like the 15 pin versions.

http://learn.adafruit.com/character-lcd ... cklit-lcds
Top of page says:
After you've wired up the LCD and tested it as above, you can connect the LEDs to the PWM analog out pins of the Arduino to precisely set the color.

So follow the procedure on wiring - pins 1 thru 15.

Then go to the RGB backlit page for the specifics about pins 16-18.
They are hooked up to the PWM pins on the Arduino.

As for using the LCD the tutorial is pretty clear - use the built in LiquidCrystal library:
Again reference the RGB backlit page.
