VS1053 Breakout

Post by Improviser »

It appears that this only supports single channel or microphone recording yet plays back stereo.
Is there stereo record capability?

Looks like the other channel pin (#48) is not routed anywhere.

This one is new enough that I haven't had a chance to "poke it 'til it smokes", but I'll pass the question along to the folks who designed it.

We designed this with Mono Mic recording in mind, there LINE2 pin isn't connected so it is not able to record stereo

I am using the recommended configuration for the ogg recording, but i have low audio level. I would like to use the ELECTRET MICROPHONE AMPLIFIER - MAX http://www.adafruit.com/products/1063 .
I connect as a line input (Out -> Mic+, GND -> AGND, VCC -> 3V3) directly and also using the configuration suggested on schema 3 (page 13 of vs1053 datasheet).
The audio level is not really increased but now i have a lot of noise with a repetitive buzz.
How can avoid it?

Post a photo of your hardware and we'll see if we can spot any problems.

Greetings,

I've been digging into the Piano Glove code and I have a question about the VS1053 MIDI note table. The Flora_Pianoglove sketch has two defines - LOWKEY 64 and HIGHKEY 76, referred to as high C and double high C respectively. All the MIDI note tables I have been able to find list these values as 60 and 72, instead of 64 and 76. Does the VS1053 simply have a different set of values or am I missing something? I've searched the data sheet, the forums and the web. Any and all all help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Strate

This is my configuration (sorry if is it not so clear). I tried to put a 470Ohm resistor and a 1uF capacitor in series before the mic+ input, but nothing changes.
Tks
