I have an arduino duo & lcd shield from adafruit. The lcd seems not to work. Since I have not found a schematic, trouble shooting is difficult.
There is power on the pot, and it will vary between 0 and +5V. However, no light from the lcd. I am using the code from your site. This is rgb lcd code, but
it seems that is the one to use for the b&wlcd also. It compiles fine and uploads fine, but no "hello world." I use ubuntu linux. Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim

The schematics can be found here: https://github.com/adafruit/Adafruit-RGB-LCD-shield
If you post photos of the front and back of the shield we will check your assembly.

It looks to me that those files are in some format that needs a program to display them? I have no idea what that might be, and
since I use linux, chances are it won't run on my system .
Thanks,
Jim

Eagle is a free download. And yes, it does run on Linux: http://www.cadsoftusa.com/download-eagle/?language=en
