I have used the sous viduino successfully for several delicious cuts of meat. So thank you for that!
I tried using it today and found that the LCD display doesn't work when I'm only using a 5V 1A wall wart - all I get is the backlight. It seems to be working (as it's clicking the rice cooker on and off). When I plug the USB cord in, I get the display working properly. I know I'm only supposed to go to 5v, but not sure what else I can do to cut the cord between my Arduino and my computer.

How are you connecting that? The DC barrel jack input of the Arduino requires 7-12v input. The on-board regulator needs 2 volts of headroom to regulate properly.I tried using it today and found that the LCD display doesn't work when I'm only using a 5V 1A wall wart

It was the wall wart to the barrel jack. I just plugged in a 12v and it worked fine. Thanks!
