Questions about Trinket and its documentation

Post by yehnan »

In http://learn.adafruit.com/introducing-t ... bootloader
the link "http://http//learn.adafruit.com/usbtinyisp/drivers" for "For details on installing the drivers for Windows XP, 7, 8 etc... please read this page!" should be "http://learn.adafruit.com/usbtinyisp/drivers"

In http://learn.adafruit.com/introducing-t ... rduino-ide
Unzip it and remove the hardware folder from the zip file and move the hardware folder to your Arduino sketchbook folder.

remove and move?

Maybe change the sentence to:
Unzip the zip file and move the hardware folder to your Arduino sketchbook folder.

In http://learn.adafruit.com/introducing-t ... rduino-ide
Then, select USBtinyISP from the Tools->Programmer sub-menu

I don't understand why we need to do this. As I know Tools-Programmer is for Tools-Burn Bootloader and File-Upload Using Programmer. File->Upload has nothing to do with Tools-Programmer. Am I right?

These are so new I haven't even seen one yet. But I'll check with the design team for some answers on that.

1) checked.
2)
3) Really? Would you please explain more?
Is that because you don't include some settings in hardware/boards.txt? Something like upload.protocol?

Thanks for replying so quick.

Well, now I know the answer.

Gemma and Trinket will appear as a usb device like Usbtiny.
Not as a serial port.
