Thanks for the clear photos. Everything top-side looks as it should be. Is it possible that you may have short-circuited the M1 terminals at some point?

Haven't done anything other than solder them and put the wires in. Really new to this though so could have done something wrong.

So guessing from your comment that this is probably unfixable?

Wth no outward signs of problems, it most likely would require a chip replacement. If you want to attempt some surface-mount rework, you could probably fix it.

It is past the warranty period for the board. But if you contact [email protected] with a link to this thread, we can offer a discount on a replacement.
