Boost Basic output regulation

Post by Barry914 »

The output voltage of my Boost Basic, powered by 3 fresh AAA alkaline cells drops to about 4.8V when charging my Droid phone, and to about 4.5V with partially drained batteries delivering about 3V. Measurements were made at the board's breakout terminals with 2 different DVMs and an analog VOM. Current draw from fresh batteries is about 750 mA. Is this normal?

Doesn't sound unreasonable, but I'll check.

Sounds reasonable, could be your batteries are not able to provide as much current as the powerboost would like so it dips. 750mA from alkalines is more than most alkalines like!
