advice needed: 2 li-po batts in parallel (for extra runtime)

Post by glitch42 »

Got a simple neopixel/flora project, with about 120 total pixels. Already have 2 lipo 2500ma batts in hand & Looking for extended runtime... would it be OK (or advisable) to:

- (preferred) wire both batts in parallel right at the terminals, feed all pixels from a common bus out of flora, charge with single adafruit lipo charger

or should I split the loads into 2 halves, and use a batt on each half, and 2 chargers or a charging switch that parallels the batts?

Thanks!!

It is not a good idea to wire batteries in parallel unless they have been precision matched and have a balancing circuit.

Splitting the load and chargers is your best bet.
