3.3 V FTDI Cable gives 4.8V output?

Post by dobbz »

Hi,

I have a 3.3V FTDI cable from you folks and when I plug it into an Arduino Pro Mini 3.3v, I am seeing 4.8V on the LED output when set High. When I power it from the RAW with 5V, it correctly reads 3.3v.

Testing the cable itself, I am getting 5V on the red, and 3.3 on the orange/yellow, so it seems the cable is working right.

Shouldn't the Arduino Pro Mini be using the Orange/Yellow to drive the digital outputs to respect any components hooked up to it?

Thoughts?

I don't think I understand the question . The cable provides 5V on the power line, but all the data signals are 3.3V.
