Hi there.
I bought Tv B gone kit v 1.2 and I solder components it works fine, but 1 thing bothers me there is place for R2 resistor.
There is place for it, but I didnt solder it in there (R2 resistor) because there wasnt it in manual solder it in circuit.
What that R2 resistor does ??
more powerful IR leds or what ? this is version 1.2

If you follow the link printed on your board or go here http://ladyada.net/make/tvbgone/ you will see the resistor is not there either.

its not necessary or better

But actually I think it will look better with no empty space for R2, so will it hurt anything or make the device work worse if I solder it?

It is not necessary for operation, but will not hurt anything to have it there.
