I'm assuming this is normal, but I wanted confirmation.
If I hold my tv-b-gone up to my ear, and I press the button to start it, then for the entirety of the time for which it is sending signals I can hear very soft little chirps. The chips change frequency and pattern so I'm thinking that what I am hearing is dependent on the signal being sent.
Anyway, if anyone can, I'd love to have a) confirmation that this is normal and other people can hear it and b) some explanation (which part exactly is it that is vibrating/deforming to create the sound)?
Thanks!

Yes, i can hear mine as well. Very very quiet but distinct little "chirps" that i think are in unison with the IR leds.

It's the electrons being exploded in the LED to create light, happens all the time in electronics.

Maybe you can pinpoint the source of the noise by using the cardboard tube method
In this case though, a drinking straw might be more appropriate...
