Hi,
I just got my TV-B-Gone ver 1.2 in the mail and am having an engineer here at work put it together. He has followed all the steps up until the 1st test and cannot get the green LED light to come on. He is using fresh batteries and double checked them with a voltage meter. We even went to the forums and follow the idea one user tried:
- Removed battery.
- Removed micro.
- Used Fluke meter in mA current mode to short pins 4&7. LED lights!
We will check the 60+joints like Overland1 did although it looked like in the end, he just got a new kit:
From User Overland1:
"The kit was pretty messed up, and I became far too busy to even mess with it. A while later, when I finally got some spare time and a small PanaVise (Model #209) to hold the board so I could more precisely solder the 60+ joints, I got another kit and it immediately worked as it was designed."
In one case, you sent off a new micro to a user but Overland1's issue seemed like a faulty board. What other tests can we try so that we can rule in what exact part we need?
Thank you,
G2
