DIY TVBG Chip Flashing

Post by Archer12x »

I mentioned this in another post but thought I'd start my own.....

Anyhoo, I've been banging my head against the wall with this. I've Googled this to death and can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

I am using WinAVR to build the .hex file. The other files are from BANNED (http://www.BANNED.net/projects/tvbgone/ - Firmware v1.1.zip). I am using an AVRisp mkII and AVR Studio 5 to flash the chip.

The "firmware v1.1.zip" files have a slow blink x5 before it goes into sending the codes. If I just use the existing na_tvbg.hex and flash the chip, my Insignia (Best Buy private label - uses LG codes) will go off. If I use either of the other existing .hex codes, the Insignia stays on.

If I use any of the files from the ladyada.net site (http://www.ladyada.net/make/tvbgone/download.html) the Insignia stays on.

I've tried all the folders and some mix and match trials and I can't get this to work.

I would like to be able to move the LG codes closer to the top, so they go off faster and make a few other tweaks to the codes.

Can anyone help me, pleaze?? Is there an updated worldcodes.c file? Do I have to make a change to the make or main.c file? Is there anything else that I am missing. I am losing my mind, there is dent in the drywall the size of my head and my wife is getting sick of me spending all my time on this. Thanks!!!
