TV-B Gone 1.2 PCB possibly bad...?

Post by purpulhaze »

Just received my a tv b gone pcb board. Just put together with parts I had working on a mini breadboard. Shortly after connecting the battery box almost melted. Tested with small bench p/s and kept tripping it. Short on board somewhere. Tested with DMM and found battery positive and negative has continuity with almost no resistance. Looks as if the positive battery connection is the same as the negative. Pin 8 and 4 of the attiny85 pads are the same as well. Looks as if the eagle board reflects this too.

Considering the number of these kits that we sell, we would have heard if there were a problem with the schematic or board layout. If you post photos we can take a look at the assembly.

Please disregard as I've found out the problem. It was the cap that was bad and shorting...Thanks for the quick response to help!
