Test Fails

Post by djc3d »

I have constructed the kit, but the green LED does not light on battery insert. The IR LEDs are working but do not flicker on button press. I have reworked the solder joints on the green LED and button. (See attached). Microprocessor is in correctly. Confident that green LED went in right way round.

Can you please post pictures completely showing both sides of the board?
The one you posted only shows part of the solder side. Also, it's a little too fuzzy to really see the solder joints well.

Some of the IR led solder joints look 'cold'. Check this guide for tips on fixing those: http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-guid ... n-problems
But that should not affect the operation of your green led. I suspect a bad processor chip. Contact [email protected] with a link to this thread and ask for a TV-B-Gone processor.
