2 LED circuits

Post by opossum »

Can it be reduced to 1 sq. in.? Yes it can! 1.0" x 1.0"
The LED current is lower to allow use of a 2xAAA battery pack (~1 inch wide) or a single CR123A lithium photo battery.

This is a high current circuit. 1.50" x 0.95" It drives two LEDs with 1A each. Different transistors are required for the high current - ordinary 2N4401/2N2222/PN2222 will not work. The current is regulated over the working range of 3.3 to 5.5 Volts. Droop down to 2.0 volts is tolerated.
Range with the specified parts should be similar to the V1.1 kit.
I think a single Li-ion/Li-poly cell (mobile phone battery) may work well for this circuit. The LED current will be constant from full charge to ~30% charge.

I modified oPossum's Tvbgone to 0,7656 sq inch (7/8 x 7/8) to stuff it into this little soft-toy for more stealth tvbgone work with IR led's "eyes".
