AVR Programmers: AVRISP mkII vs. USBTInyISP
I'm interested in getting started in programming AVR microcontrollers on a Mac (OS X). I've installed Crosspack (http://www.obdev.at/products/crosspack/index.html) so now I obviously need a programmer. Should I get the AVRISP mkII or got with the USBTinyISP kit? The price difference is really not a big issue, I just want whatever will give the least amount of hassle and gets me into programming sooner. (Obviously, the USBTinyISP has to assembled, but it doesn't look bad.)

the differences are that the mkii can't provide power to the target and it only has a 6pin cable
the mkii is more official, if you dont mind the above id get that!

if you've got an extra $20 and want cool graphics, get a dragon.
(also supports debugwire. has space on board to mount a zif socket. supports high voltage programming.)

Thanks for the input. I ended up going with the AVR ISP mk II... just to save me the time of assembling something else. I built my own adapter to put the 6 pins in a row for breadboarding but it's super ugly...I think those Sparkfun adapters look like a good idea.
