teensyduino no longer recommended?

I was wondering: why?
Aside from the annoyance of having to manually reset the board (which is probably not that hard to fix) teensyduino basically amounts to a bunch of libraries, right?
I recently got a boards.txt file working for the atmega32u4 breakout board in the new teensyduino for arduino 1.0.1 and I wanted to post it on the WIKI, but I thought it wise to determine why it's no longer supported.

if you want to use teensyduino, we suggest the teensy

There is also the Leonardo, which is the Arduino teams 32u4 board which as full Arduino IDE support
