Arduino with Flex sensor setup

Post by psychol720 »

I am attempting to hook up the flex sensor (FSR) with my UNO. Although I read on the adafruit site that a pull up resistor should be used. I would like to know how this setup will look so I can utilize the FSR's?

Would it be like this: 5V supply goes to one side of the FSR, and on the other side of the FSR we BOTH go to a resistor which is also hooked up to the 5V supply and also analog input on the UNO? then I just monitor the UNO analog pin for changes. I am confused as to the placement of the pull up resistor, the value of the resistor and why I would need it ultimately, thanks

Flex sensors work similarly to FSRs. Connect it as in the diagram here: http://learn.adafruit.com/force-sensiti ... ing-an-fsr
The tutorial explains how the resistor circuit works.
