Will the Simple RF M4 Receiver work with a 12V input?

Post by nizzleone »

I am looking to use this to control relays for several functions in my car which obviously uses 12V. Would that work, or is there a way to reduce the voltage to be acceptable?

I would be using it in conjunction with something like this. Or is there a preferred 4 relay set for this device.

Thanks

The receivers are rated for up to 10v. Car electrical systems are nominally 12v, but often exceed 13v at times. You could use a voltage regulator like this to clamp it at 10v: http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ua7810.pdf
