Getting Started with the LPC810

Post by joepalazzolo »

The other day I noticed your new "Getting Started with the LPC810" tutorial. Great, thinks I, this is what I want to get into. Uh-oh, part of the recommended kit is your USB to TTL cable with the PL2303HXA driver, the same cable that I have, but cannot use due to my Windows 8 operating system (What, something else to dislike about Windows 8?).

Have you considered modding your USB FTDI TTL-232 cable with single pin connectors like the 2302 cable, and offering it as an alternative? I'd even buy the first one, just to try it out.

Just wondering,

Joe

If that doesn't work, you can always 'roll your own' with these: http://www.adafruit.com/products/825

FTDI friend works great, I just stuffed the long header between a breadboard and the connector...I was too lazy to pull out the PL2303 cable and knew my system already worked with the FTDI part.

No matter you need some jumpers, wire or long header to interface as the PL2303 cable has female connectors anyway.

 Success! Thanks, franklin. I followed the instructions in your link and was serially communicating in no time. Now I can get into the LPC810 tutorial.
