Hi all.
The STA013 chip used in the MP3 project. Is it possible to get this chip to playback audio at a slower or faster tempo/speed ?
If not does anyone know one which might?
Thanks
Chris

Re: STA013
you could probably do it by changing the crystal but no i dont think its particularly easy

Re: STA013
If instead of hooking a crystal up to the XTI and XTO pins, you build a separate variable oscillator that has a base frequency the same as the crystal, with just enough variability to get you the range of speeds you want, you could then hook the output of that oscillator up to just the XTI pin, using it as a simple clock input.
Based on what I see on the STM data sheet for the STA013, it should work.

I don't know how much this will affect the rest of the operation of the whole board, however. It's possible that the digital data reception and translation of the STA chip from the rest of the board might not work as expected. You'd have to try it and find out.
