LCD blinking with sample sketch

I just soldered a I2C backpack on my 20x4 LCD and I updated the library with the I2C library from here, now when I upload the hello world sketch the LCD just blinks with no message. Any ideas I am not great with this programming stuff but i can understand the hardware parts.

ah! no matter my actual sketch works fine. No blinking.
