advice on motor

Post by dze »

Hi there,

I've got a simple project which needs a dc motor to turn a music box. I would like to turn the motor as slow as possible and without any whining sounds or other noises. Which motors would you recommend? stepper, or a 4r/min dc motor?

best

If you don't need a lot of torque, these geared steppers are quite smooth and you can control the speed very precisely. DC motors tend to be noisier in general and require some sort of feedback to precisely control speed.
