Smart Green House

Post by abdreibadilacg »

Project Overview
The proposed system represents a proof of concept of an Eco Smart House System with power saving features.
The problem:
- the design and the development of an automation system for residential houses/apartments with the following features
o easy to use
o reduces power consumption of the house/apartment
o cost effective
o rapid deployment
o scalable
o remote controllable using mobile devices
The solution:
- using the CerebotMX7cK microcontroller development board we can easily design and develop an integrated solution for the proposed problem
- also, using the network communication feature of the microcontroller we can remote control the system using mobile devices with Wi-Fi capabilities

The main characteristics offered by the Eco Smart House System are:
Smart Lighting
The lighting inside/outside the house can be adjusted according to time of the day/the level of light, therefore the Smart House system will help save energy, without user’s involvement.
Remote Lighting/Appliances Control
Using a wireless connection and a mobile device the user can control any lights or appliances from any corner within the house or from remote locations.
Remote Access to Control the Home/ Security System
Using a mobile device with an internet connection the user has full access to the home automation system from any location. Also, the system allows the user to monitor the Intrusion Detection System and to activate/deactivate the alarm system.
Time Programmed Operation
The user will be able to program events and schedule task to improve the energy consumption of your house:
- Scene lighting
- Smart HVAC
- Motorized Devices
- House Audio/Video system

Design
The proposed system simulates a 3 room house, nevertheless it can be scaled to accommodate larger units.
Using light, temperature and infrared sensors and 5V/10V DACs and LEDs the system emulates the behavior of real components that can be found in a house/apartment.
Also, using the network communication feature of the microcontroller and a mobile device with Wi-Fi capabilities the designed system emulates the remote control of the sensors/actuators found in a house/apartment.

I think the guys are saying you haven't really asked a question or given any context for your proposal statement.

- If you want someone to work on this, you can head over to the jobs board.
- If you want help with some specific bit of technology, tell us what it is and what you want to know.
- If you want us to do your semester project for you, we've seen that before and are pretty handy with the Socratic method.
- If you're advertising a dev board, this topic will disappear.

Mike, I'll say your point of view is also great.
