Using an Arduino as an AVR ISP

Post by cp3d2o »

Hi, I am using two Arduino Uno boards one with ATMEGA 328 and one with an Atmega8. I am programming the Atmega8.
Am am using http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ArduinoISP as a guide. I have put in a 10UF capacitor as directed into the main Uno but it is not working I just get an error. Because Im using the Uno and not the one pictured do I have to change any of the leads?
I load the ArduinoISP ok
then put in the leads to the other Uno change the board then upload but doesnt work!

I think the problem is one ARDUINO WORKS ON com8 and the other on COM7 but when I try to burn bootloader I dont get the option to change to COM7.
