Arduino Coding help

Post by jped »

HI
I do not know if you guys understand arduino, it is basically c++ with some changes. I have an error code that keeps coming up it is "no matching function for call to 'PS2keyboard;;Begin(constint& constint&)'" Just as background I had to seperate code, one for an LCD display and one for a keyboard. They worked perfectly alone. However, when i tried to merge them so that i could display the characters onto the lcd display i got this error. Anything will help
This is my code

Code: Select all

#define PIN_SCE   7
#define PIN_RESET 6
#define PIN_DC    5
#define PIN_SDIN  4
#define PIN_SCLK  3
int ledlight = 13
#define LCD_C     LOW
#define LCD_D     HIGH

#define LCD_X     84
#define LCD_Y     48
#include <PS2Keyboard.h>

const int DataPin = 8;
const int IRQpin =  2;

PS2Keyboard keyboard;

I have an error code that keeps coming up it is "no matching function for call to 'PS2keyboard;;Begin(constint& constint&)'"
Is that the first error message in the output window? Scroll to the top and post the first few lines of output since they are usually the most pertinent.

Sounds like the library was not found. Make sure you have the library installed in the correct location. http://www.ladyada.net/library/arduino/libraries.html

Hi Jped,

I gather that you are new to the Adafruit forum.
jped wrote:I do not know if you guys understand arduino
That is kind of funny since the Adafruit people are very knowledgeable.

What makes this forum such a great place is that in addition to knowing
a lot about Arduino hardware and software, the Adafruit team graciously
answers questions and shares that knowledge and experience with people
like you, me and the lurkers. In addition, it is not just the Adafruit team
but members of the community also share.

When people like you ask the questions is when Adafruit and others have
the opportunity to share the answers. So, thanks for the questions.

Good Luck with your project,
John

Maybe I am looking at an old copy of PS2Keyboard.h, I don't see a signature for begin that takes two arguments. The only one I see takes a data pin argument : void begin(int dataPin);

Yep I was looking at an older version (PS2Keyboard002.zip) from http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Main/PS2Keyboard. The newer one includes the IRQ.
