Postby CelsoPadilha » Thu Nov 29, 2012 8:23 pm

Hello guys, my fingerprint sensor doesnt show life signal, just blink, I recorded one video to show how is happening.

I've read another topics saying about this problem, my cables are perfect, the ports are ok, I dont understand what the fingerprint sensor doesnt work. I need some help guys.

Someone has the same problem?

Cables:
Red = 5V
Black = GND
White = 3
Green = 4

The vídeo (The quality is sux but is possible to see) :

For some reason I can't play the video. Can you post a still photo showing your connections?

I Can't post the photo now, because i'm working, but the wires conected are:

Red Wire = 5V on Arduino
Black Wire = GND on Arduino
White Wire = Digital port 3 on Arduino
Green Wire = Digital port 4 on Arduino

The same problem is happening in Arduino Mega 2560, the Arduino 2560 and Arduino Duemilanove works great, but when I connect the fingerprint sensor happen just one blink.

Are you connecting via a breadboard or direct to the Arduino headers?
Did you solder any connectors or pins to the ends of the sensor wires?

I'm connecting direct to the Arduino.
Yes i'm did solder in all four conectors, and I tested all four with a multimeter and its all ok.

Today I'll post a picture.

The example sketch expects Green on pin 2 and White on pin 3. Have you modified the sketch? Looks like you're using pins 3 and 5 in the photos.

In that case, have you tried swapping white and green?

The sensor won't light up unless it's actively scanning a fingerprint. What sketch have you loaded?
Also, the tutorial takes you through a setup process with Windows prior to attaching the sensor to an arduino.

Have you gone through that process? Did the sensor work then?

Sry for the time to answer the question.

I try the tutorial and the problem was different. The problem are in the image:

I've seen other topics for this problem but, no one of this topics on adafruit forum doesnt work to me.

The COM Port are Ok and is the sensor port.

What I do?
