Arduino Esplora Expansion Header Finally Documented

Postby TheKitty » Sun Dec 30, 2012 3:10 pm

Ok, since LadyAda and company encourage hacking, I took my new Arduino Esplora and documented the pins on the expansion header.

I also developed test programs for both hardware serial and software serial over the pins on the header. This could allow someone to add a TTL serial radio instead of the planned display.

For information and code via github, see http://21stdigitalhome.blogspot.com/201 ... nouts.html

Happy Hacking, Mike

As a follow-up, I connected an Xbee radio to make the Esplora a wireless controller. Info, code, details at http://21stdigitalhome.blogspot.com/201 ... radio.html

Now to use LadyAda's LiPo tutorial to cut the power cord...

I couldn't wait for the battery, I strapped one on via rubber band and modified the code to output codes for joystick movements and button presses.

Documented at http://21stdigitalhome.blogspot.com/2013/01/arduino-esplora-as-fully-wireless.html with a Youtube video added.

I made the wireless Esplora do something useful - control an Uno with an XBee and Adafruit Motorshield

I hadn't thought the Esplora was even available, yet, so not only can I say "great job!" but great timing as well.
