Wave Shield wav format

by ashapiro on Sat May 04, 2013 3:05 pm

I have an Arduino uno and a wave shield. I tried using an audio file that was formatted using Audacity in wav(microsoft). I got an error that said it was not a valid wav file. I am doing all of this on an IMac. Is the format different for the mac? Audacity also formats in AIFF which seems to be the mac standard format for audio. Will the wave shield read AIFF? Please don't tell me I have to use a PC.

Reasons for failure include I/O error, an invalid wave file or a wave file with features that WaveHC does not support. Make sure that it is mono and the sample rate is 22KHz or less.

Thanks for the quick response. Sorry I bothered you. Late last night I fixed my wave files and did all the things you mentioned. IT NOW WORKS! Thanks.
