TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
I'm trying to take pictures using the camera just using the arduino, not the commtool or to merge them into 1 program. How can I go about doing this?

Re: TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
Have you tried using the 'snapshot' sketch described in the tutorial? http://learn.adafruit.com/ttl-serial-ca ... the-camera

Re: TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
I am having trouble getting CommTool or the Snapshot sketch to work for me following the tutorial. CommTool tells me it times out and Snapshot tells me:
"VC0706 Camera snapshot test
Card failed, or not present"
I am using the outdoor camera with an Uno. I used Green for RX and White for TX. I do not have the NTSC wires connected

Post a photo showing your connections from the camera to the Arduino.

Attached is a picture of my setup. I also had a very similar setup on another Uno with the CC3000 shield. I'm showing this one to ensure no solder issues.
I have also tried swapping the green and white wires in case they were not switch compared to the non-outdoor version.

Re: TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
I don't see any +5v and GND connections from the Arduino to the breadboard.

Re: TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
Wow, I should have known...
Ok, now in CommTool, I can check the version and receive the number. But, that's it. When I go to "fbuf Ctr", do I need to press Stop CFbuf or NFbuf? Neither seem to do anything for me. Snapshot does not find a camera.

Re: TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
You press "Stop FBuf". That freezes the last frame in the frame buffer.
Then press "Sel File" to select a file.
Then press "Read" to read the contents of the frame buffer into the file.

Re: TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
Hi eveyone,
I would like to infom you that I'm in a real problem and I couldn't solve it. I tried to test Miniature TTL Serial Camera and followed all instructions and steps which has been mentioned and advised in the video in the link below. I have successfully connected the camera where VC0706 Comm Tool program showed me a message (Version: "VC0703 1.00). However, I got a message (Cmd time out) once I press CFbuf button.
Could you help me please.

hi @ASafwan,
did you solve your problem?
Actually i've got exactly the same Problem, you described:
" I have successfully connected the camera where VC0706 Comm Tool program showed me a message (Version: "VC0703 1.00).
However, I got a message (Cmd time out) once I press CFbuf button. "
Thanks for any help, olyb

Re: TTL Serial Camera - CommTool help
Hi olyb,
Actually, I thought that the problem is the buad rate. The baud rate of the first camera is 115200 and unfortunately it is not adjustible so, I bought the same camera from Adafruit that was used in the tutorial with boud rate 57400 and it works fine.
I hope this will help you.
Good luck!
