bad IR Sensor component

Post by mtneco48 »

I bought a starter kit for Arduino Uno and a Sensor assortment Pack Item 176 at the end of Jan 2014. I am now trying to use the IR Sensor and the IR LED. I put together the suggested testing method ( http://learn.adafruit.com/ir-sensor/tes ... -ir-sensor) for the IR Sensor from that Sensor pack which I believe is a TSOP38238. The IR sensor when stimulated by every remote that I have in my house never flickered the led attached to it on the number 1 lead as setup by the suggested circuit diagram. I believe that the IR sensor is no good!

Any possible way I could have another one sent out to me to replace this one?

Send a note to [email protected] with a link to this thread and the folks there will get you a new IR sensor.
