Need help with programming please <3

I am a seinor in high school and I am doing a project using the arduino. I am not very familiar with programming and I need help. My group is trying to make a round counter for a nerf gun using push buttons, display, and an arduino. we want to put a push button behind the trigger and every time you pull the trigger it counts it as a shot. Then on the outside of the gun we want to put two more push buttons to adjust the starting count one to add and one to subtract. Thanks for your help!
