Gemma issue with OS X (10.9.4)

Post by yes_papa »

Hello,

I can't access to my gemma after an OS X update. Have somebody find a solution to this problem?

I have this message: avrdude: usbdev_open() and I have no active USBtoSerial ports.

Thanks.

Try removing and re-downloading the IDE.

What do you mean by IDE?

It's a contraction of "Integrated Development Environment".. the program where you write code, compile it, and upload the firmware to the Arduino.

Ok. I use the Adafruit Arduino 1.0.5 Mac Version. Do you use it? Do you see some changes with the OS X update? Some users have some issues.

I have Arduino 1.0.5 running on OS X 10.9.4 right now.

The Arduino IDE is a Java program, and OS X doesn't come with Java by default. If you did a clean install of OS X, you may need to download Java to make the IDE run properly. If you upgraded a system already in use, you may need to reinstall Java or update it.

Ok. Just realize that MacBook Air have USB3 and that is not working with this kind of USB. I have buy an adapter USB3 to USB2 so.
