Post by jameschin »

So what are the pros and cons of the Adafruit Pro Trinket? the Adafruit Arduino Micro?

Which one is better for what kinds of projects?

The Micro is based on the ATmega32U4, which has built-in usb support and an extra 0.5k of SRAM compared with the Pro Trinket. It is essentially a Leonardo in a different form factor.

The Pro Trinket is based on the ATmega328. Like the regular Trinket, the Pro implements USB in software. Digital 2 and 7 are not available, as they are used for USB. Otherwise, it is essentially equivalent to an Arduino Uno. The voltage regulator on the Pro Trinket will only put out 150mA, as opposed to 800mA on a Uno.

The Pro Trinket is about half the size of a Micro. The Pro Trinket also comes in a 3.3V version, which the Micro does not.
