Well, if a company with money uses your code in a competing program, and your license forbids that, bringing out the lawyers is the right option there, and can be effective if they don't have too much more money than you. For individuals, it won't work, between the Streisand Effect, and the fact that you're suing potential customers.
Funny thing, even the GPL allows for a charge for downloading the source code, but only for reasonable costs of distribution (that is, if you distribute something without source code, you can distribute a written offer with it to charge for the cost of a CD and postage with the source code), and typically charging for online distribution of GPL code doesn't fly.
