yes, you are correct about the max offset. In my testing with various ones I found the offset to be 1-2mV so I spec'd 10M for max control (range). However to cover for worst case 3.3M would work very well and still have good adjustment.the 10M small enough to give good range a quick calculation showed +/-1mv trim
yes it's great. That's what I use at work, I'm good with it and can do a lot of stuff faster. The only problem is in the DIY world compatibility is a bit of an issue. For single and two layer boards Eagle is very DIY friendly.... you should see the reaction of the older guys at work when I pull up a layout in Eagle... they sort of snicker... wonder what it is and think it's a toy... jokes on them though, still a very powerful program if you need simple schematic capture and layout.i checked out your schematics altium is such a nice program

Thanks and agreed. Aren't you using the same style case? I thought I saw a pic of the BCbox in an FPE enclosure.. I am thinking about a all black one if there will be a 2nd run.
WRT DC offset: what is a starting point on the 50K trimmer? should I start at short and go up from there or somewhere in the middle?
