If any of you has a good source please share. I'm looking for black machine and wood screws for a pile of vintage synths I have here.

you can try grainger or msc
but i dont know their shipping policies
and they arent as good as mcmaster
although often cheaper

Thanks guest! I'll look and find post back what I find. Strange how something seemingly simple like a black machine screw becomes this big hunt. It's actually absurd.

I went to order heaps of stuff from them

I use RS components for hex screws etc.. they have nice black ones. Just make sure the stand-offs fit with the screws , buy them both from the same place. I'm not sure what you have in Canada M3 or 440 , We share the same queen so I'd say we share the same maths?

I went in to a Bolt Supply store here locally (Regina) and all their stock was way too big. I can't remember if they said if they could order M3/440, but I ended up getting what I needed for my x0x from Ebay and B&E Electronics (http://www.be-electronics.com/). B&E is really helpful and will order what you need if they can get it from their suppliers...good luck with their site though!
