YBox bootloader and widgets

Post by cosmomen »

Hi Guys!

I couldn't find any posts or topic where I could find answer for my question , so I decided to post it here in this general topic.
I'm not yet the owner of a YBox but I'm planning o build one. In the meantime I try to collect as much info as I can. When I was passing through the description for the YBox Bootloader and how to upload widgets to the box. There was a step which is not clear to me and I would be thankful if someone could give a confirmation.
So, the question is if I'm using the bootloader an a widget was loaded into the EEPROM what will happen after a power failure?
In the bootloader.spin accordig to the description the way to boot in stage 2 is to press the button during bootloader is idle. But what if I would like to boot up in stage 2 directly without any intervention?

There is a step where the doc says " If you want the unit to immediately boot into stage2, simply add ?boot to the URL:curl http://[IPADDRESS]/stage2.eeprom?boot -T wwwexample.binary" Is this what I'm looking for? Is unclear for me what this means. Does it mean that it will start in stage 2 after the file was uploaded or will it always start up in stage2 if I add "?boot" (even after power failure)?

Many thanks in advance!

1. if you load a widget into eeprom, its a permanent storage, itll stay there 'forever'
