YBox2 Home Automation

Post by tvdbon »

At the moment I've already got a bit of a home automation project going. But the YBox2 would give me a nice and small interface to the home automation network via the tv. Since it has an i2c port available I was thinking of connecting a avr to it. The avr can then do all the dirty work, while the Ybox2 itself only worries about the ethernet and the tv display. One thing I would like to try is to improve the graphics to the tv. Do you guys think it would be possible to create more of a real GUI on the propeller ? I'm not thinking hi-def graphics but atleast something similiar to a 8-bit game console. I've been reading about the propeller and the spin language but can't find alot about the graphics output. Any ideas ?

Take a look at the Hydra. It's built on the propeller chip.

Cool, I had a look and this is what I found with regards to graphics done on the hydra (ie. Propeller Chip)

- Some Pictures of what the Propeller would be capable of
- Tiles and Sprites drivers

And some Parallax Development Links :

I can't wait to get my ybox2 to play with this...
